Penrith Baseball Club would like to not only congratulate all
of these exciting players of the future, but also their parents
and coaches who have been able to develop them to the standard
worthy of representative selection.
With results like these, it is not difficult to see why Penrith
Baseball Club was again declared the Champion Club of the Greater
Baseball Western Association.

With 4 teams in the Summer 05/06 Season, the Division 3 Wildcats
took their season to the very end only to lose 1-2 to West Sydney
Boomers.
Despite practically dominating the competition all year, the
Wildcats finally me their match on Grand Final Day.
For most of the game, the scores were tied at 1-1, but a hit
through short stop allowed the go-ahead run to score late in the
game and the Wildcats were unable to capitalise on 2 runners in
scoring positions with 0 out, and ended up taking out the Division
3 Runner-up, in addition to their Minor Premiership for the season.
Noteworthy mention also to the other 3 Summer teams, all of whom
finished in the top 4, with first and fourth grade missing out
on the finals due to GWBA's 2-team final set-up (based on number
of competition teams) and the Second Grade Tigers losing the first
final in the bottom of the 6th inning in a very tight match-up.
Best of luck to the Junior teams who still have their finals
to be played from 11 March 2006.
Tahlia
McDonald has been selected in the NSW Womens baseball Side.
This a fantastic achievement when you realise that Tahlia is 16
years old and is competing against women much older.
Aside from being a current Coach in the Junior Competition and
having played all her career at this club, she has also been a
past GWBA Youth League Representative (mixing it with the boys,
and doing it well might I add).
Tahlia is not only a great role model for aspiring Players, but
she also stands as a testament to what can be achieved with passion
and hard work.
When you see Tahlia, take the time to congratulate her on her
achievement.
Representing your State is one of the highest personal honours
a Sportsperson can achieve, and the Club wishes her all the best
in 2006.
Congratulations to the winners:
Coen
Clark - U7Panthers
Jarod Simonetta - U8Panthers
Kurt Berry - U9 Panthers
Vaughan Thistlethwaite - U10 Panthers
Jake Bowen - U12 Pumas
Ryan Cusack - U14 Jaguars
Mitchell Ryan - U16 Panthers
Winners are reminded to arrive
at Patons Fertilizer on Andrews Road no later than 10.15am on
Sunday 30th October 2005
Three 14's players from Penrith have been selected into the Baseball
NSW Metro team to compete in the National Tournament later this
year.
Not only is it a phenomenal effort for the Club to have three
of its players selected in this squad from the same team, but
these boys are also the only players who have been selected out
of the Greater Western Baseball Association.
Congratulations and best of luck then to Hayden
Godbold, Jake Pianta and Tate Dimech.
Penrith Baseball Club has continued its dominance
in the Greater Western Baseball Association with outstanding results
in the recently completed Winter 2005 Season.
Not only did six of the Club's seven teams make
the finals, four made it into the Grand Finals with First, Second
and Third Grades all taking out the honours on the day.
Whilst the Second Grade Jaguars had a relatively
convincing win against St Marys, both the First and Third Grade
Teams fought to the very end of their games to secure the premiership.
In First Grade, the Cougars went into the final
inning with a two run lead over the Blacktown Workers, but gave
up four runs to go into the bottom of the innings 9-7 down, only
to squeeze home the winning run of James Yates on fantastic base
running.
The Third Grade Tigers also fought right to the
end when an umpiring decision that appeared to be inconsistent
saw both the coach and pitcher ejected in the final few minutes,
but they managed to fight off the Blacktown team for a 5-4 win.
Despite being beaten on the day, special mention
should go to the Seventh Grade Pumas who had originally made the
Grand Final having beaten the one team they lost to all season
by 10 runs, but were unfortunate not to be able to continue their
form.
The First Grade Cougars and Second Grade Jaguars
had the added privilage of being declared Minor Premiers with
both teams only losing one game each out of all of their games
played during the Season.
Congratulations to all of our members for a fantastic
season. Let's keep it going with the Juniors.
Hayden, Tate & Jake have been selected
in the U/14 team and Dean in the U/16 team that will visit China
in August 2005 to play in the Beijing International Tourament.
To have 4 Penrith players selected in NSW representative teams
is awesome! Congratulations boys, on behalf of all the club -
well done and good luck in China!
